This biography of Glenn Ford is a very fine work authored by Peter Ford, the son of Glenn Ford and Eleanor Powell. To be honest about it, I was fascinated by this work. Peter Ford, to my knowledge, is not a professional author. With that in mind, I was very impressed with the quality of this biography. There is a lot of information contained in a normal biography. In addition, in that the author is the son of the subject, there is a definite "peek behind the curtain". I found this enthralling, but at imes very disturbing.No one is perfect, and like The rest of us, Glenn Ford is a combination of vice and virtue, Saint and sinner. Peter Ford gives a balanced account of his father. I was really interested in the normal information about movies, other actors, and various celebrities. It is clear that many people liked Glenn Ford and that Glenn Ford could be a loyal friend. Peter Ford makes a point of describing many of these virtues of his father.At the same time, as a father, I was appalled at the treatment of Peter Ford. As a retired police officer, I say without exaggeration, Glenn Ford exposed his son to circumstances in a manner which would have caused me to file charges. It is no surprise to me that at some point Peter Ford reports of himself that he, Peter Ford, had substance issues earlier in life that he put behind him. Peter Ford also reports some brief scene of domestic violence that I find completely repulsive.I found this biography very readable. I purchased and audiobook that I could mostly easily listen to and comprehend. I was able to fairly easily follow the book on audiobook using a speaker in my vehicle while commuting. If asked, I would call this audiobook and "easy listening experience" in the context of easily following the narration.In summary I am very glad that I had a chance to read and listen to this biography. I enjoyed it very much and found it Interesting and illuminating. I appreciate the efforts, as well as the compassion of Peter Ford. Thank You....
